After defeating Bloodstained Blade they have a picnic on the deck where Zia kisses Carter on the lips. When Ra and Zia emerge from the body of Apophis Carter embraces Zia affectionately. After defeating Apophis, Carter and Zia go on a date at the mall of America where they kiss.
Carter takes Zia out on a date in the Mall of America. She tells him that she will be staying in Brooklyn House. They share a passionate kiss and start a relationship.
They return to the First Nome and Iskandar comes to realize that Zia is, in fact, a godling. Fearing for her life, he hides her away and replaces her with a shabti.
On one of their infrequent visitations, siblings Sadie and Carter take a nice trip to the British Museum in London with their Egyptologist father Julius Kane—during which he blows up the Rosetta Stone, releasing five imprisoned ancient Egyptian gods: Isis, Osiris, Horus, Set, and Nephthys.
However, when Sadie rises from the red pyramid to change the course of the battle with Set, she realizes that she's come into her own as the blood of the pharaohs, and also as "Isis, goddess of magic, holder of the secret names" (40.4).
Carter would win in a fight against Sadie, he would use the weapon of Ra and deflect all of her attacks and strike back at her. His spells are stronger than those of Sadie's. Without the weapons of Ra, Carter would still be able to put up a fight against Sadie, they are both strong magicians.

Sadie is also very proficient in magic as she is able to change the appearance of her ba, something her brother cannot do.
Sadie is described as looking a lot like her mother and very little like her brother and father. She has fair skin, deep blue eyes, a mischievous, lopsided smile, and a caramel brown hair that she usually puts bright colored streaks in. During the battle, drawing upon the power of Horus and Isis as well as their own power, Carter and Sadie perform an execration spell on Apophis' sheut while in his presence.
